In the news: Amonix

According to an article in the OC Register last week, Amonix, Inc. of Torrance, CA (with manufacturing facility in Seal Beach, CA) is using stimulus money to build additional solar panel manufacturing plants in Nevada and Arizona. According to the USPTO assignment database, Amonix is the owner of four U.S. patents, one of which is U.S. Pat. No. 6,559,371, issued May 6, 2003.
According to their website, Amonix is the “world leading designer and proprietary manufacturer of patented high-performance high concentration photovoltaic (HCPV) power generation systems for utility scale applications.” The ’371 patent discloses a HCPV assembly for use in utility-scale electricity generation.
