OCTANe’s “VC in the OC” conference; Mavenlink

At the “VC in the OC” conference, I also attended an investment presentation by Mavenlink, LLC, headquartered in Irvine, CA, which markets a cloud-based software application (in the category of “software as a service” or SaaS) designed to provide an interactive workplace for users to collaborate with their clients and to manage various aspects of their projects, including budgets, schedules, communications, and payments.  According to Mavenlink’s CEO, Ray Grainger, Mavenlink was launched in December 2009, and potential users of Mavenlink’s technology include companies, independent contractors, and solo practitioners.

Mavenlink appears to have its marketing program up and running, for example, publicizing their candidacy as a finalist for TechAmerica’s OC High-Tech Innovation Awards and mentions of the company in a local business column.  The company also has a blog, but I have alot of difficulty reading its black text on dark blue background.

[UPDATE: Apparently I was accessing an old version of Mavenlink's blog.  The company has rolled out its new blog and community pages at http://www.mavenlink.com/community.]

A check of the USPTO database does not show any pending U.S. patent applications or U.S. patents issued to Mavenlink, which may mean that (i) the company has not filed any U.S. patent applications, (ii) its applications were filed relatively recently and are not yet scheduled for publication, or (iii) its applications were filed with a request for non-publication.
